Corruption remains one of the most acute problems of modern Kazakhstan and poses a threat on a national scale. It is about corruption and its unacceptably high level that representatives of the executive and legislative authorities and public organizations have been increasingly talking at the highest level lately.

Throughout the history of mankind, corruption as a systemic phenomenon has accompanied the activities of the state apparatus, weakening it, disrupting the normal functioning of state power. Corruption has not yet been completely eradicated in any society. In the modern world, corruption creates serious problems and threats to the stability and security of society, which undermines democratic institutions and values, ethical values and justice, and harms the sustainable development of the rule of law.  

Corruption is a negative phenomenon of modern society that requires constant careful study, a systematic approach, and comprehensive and prompt counteraction. The level and scale of corruption existing in the country hinder economic development, negatively affect the investment climate, reduce the image of the country, and international interest in cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, the fight against corruption is the main priority of the state policy of Kazakhstan. Corruption is not only a problem of our state, but also a problem of the whole World. Now all countries, including the most advanced ones, are reviewing their anti-corruption models to combat corruption, taking into account new challenges, and adopting new laws and regulations to tighten responsibility for corruption.

The main normative legal acts of anticorruption legislation in the Republic of Kazakhstan are: The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 18, 2015 “On Combating Corruption”, The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 23, 2015 “On Public service in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 23, 2015 “ On measures to further improve ethical standards and rules of conduct for civil servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan, The Criminal of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 03, 2014. These normative legal acts are an effective means of combating corruption and define the status, rights and duties of civil servants, requirements for their moral and ethical appearance and business qualities.   

All government agencies adopt departmental programs and plans to combat corruption, and some include various anti-corruption measures.

In resent years, much attention has been paid to combating corruption in Kazakhstan at the highest level of public administration.

For Kazakhstan, overcoming corruption is one of the main directions of state policy.

One of the important methods of fighting corruption is definitely mandatory compliance with the law. The moral side also plays a big role in this. A highly moral person will not break the laws.

To be worthy citizens of our country, patriots of our city, we need to improve our internal culture, we need to engage in self-education and self-education, and only then will be able to create a strong, prosperous country without corruption.
